In the end I can only say, I'm going this miss it. It's pushed me creatively and was just good fun.<br />
<br />
To the ladies at Scrapbook Generation, thank you! You've helped to bring me out of my shell, applying was a last minute do or die kind of moment for me. Never in my wildest dreams did I think little ole me would get picked for the design team. You've meant a lot to me and I can never properly thank you enough.<br />
<br />
Now onto the actual magazine! Once again CREATE is a free scrapbooking magazine brought to you from Scrapbook Generation, you can find this issue and past issues <a href="http://www.scrapbookgeneration.com/magazine/">here</a>.<br />

<br />
Love this cover and I'll probably scraplift it at some point. Allison always does such a great job with the cover layout.<br />
<br />
I had three projects in this issue, let's start with my faux canvas.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkalWX-VBRZqOzC9tU6XEsBI7yPpGO_KoqTq-fxKIWOyMXfhu1mDn0WaewBdd2WlpipxZi5Z2nYGI0TcquGQwc5Ezk4zG6gZ_ccmRbTJQUAFTkLa931aJBI0u15qFn4aAKBdmD1PW1bEA/s1600/alteredtashakey.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkalWX-VBRZqOzC9tU6XEsBI7yPpGO_KoqTq-fxKIWOyMXfhu1mDn0WaewBdd2WlpipxZi5Z2nYGI0TcquGQwc5Ezk4zG6gZ_ccmRbTJQUAFTkLa931aJBI0u15qFn4aAKBdmD1PW1bEA/s400/alteredtashakey.jpg" width="386" /></a></div>
<br />
This was for the altered section where we take either the card or tag sketch and use in another way. I've been working on making more home decor pieces for the various holidays, last issue I had one for Halloween. That was in a shadowbox frame and I almost made this one the same way but it just didn't feel right. In the end I decided to make it a faux canvas. I took strips of black woodgrain embossed cardstock and scored and cut to make what really did seem like a canvas.<br />
<br />
Next up was my Christmas layout.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiviago3JrtFWNp2ZlChIce6EFNXRy1N-kc4PoGyFUWfFubLlrZx-aC23KeKSwFLBOIT3LVixM49hydw7jzpHh8NHiXI8M5GGBLoVAOI9roa1PL-7CbY0ogGdUDMaFaMvLFzCuf4CWM-GQ/s1600/christmastashakey.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiviago3JrtFWNp2ZlChIce6EFNXRy1N-kc4PoGyFUWfFubLlrZx-aC23KeKSwFLBOIT3LVixM49hydw7jzpHh8NHiXI8M5GGBLoVAOI9roa1PL-7CbY0ogGdUDMaFaMvLFzCuf4CWM-GQ/s400/christmastashakey.jpg" width="395" /></a></div>
<br />
Lots of Bella Blvd, from what I think was multiple collections. I love that each Bella Blvd Christmas collection that has come out goes well with the ones before it. I hope they always do that.<br />
<br />
And finally my what I think is my favorite project in the issue.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg061YOZLk1DM-uLpYoX_zSdDNvO56_hb4UgKLed8HP6lskKTjIa7Bub627HoZp5sTDJxdmW4CV89bpMSeZ9WWt3NIk6Tkd-fBeET3aU8o6JwqGzuszHXx0oQtqSBBg-vYKLZb15LAHWl0/s1600/producttashakey.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="398" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg061YOZLk1DM-uLpYoX_zSdDNvO56_hb4UgKLed8HP6lskKTjIa7Bub627HoZp5sTDJxdmW4CV89bpMSeZ9WWt3NIk6Tkd-fBeET3aU8o6JwqGzuszHXx0oQtqSBBg-vYKLZb15LAHWl0/s400/producttashakey.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The challenge was to use some of the various coloring mediums on a page. At first this one was hard, I tend to use those products for cards. Bella Blvd to the rescue with the Just Add Color line, the perfect way for me to bring in my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, which I then went over with one of my very favorite products ever, Wink of Stella clear brush marker. I went over both the colored hearts and the ones I left plain to give a sense of continuity. The striped paper was my jumping off point for choosing colors.<br />
<br />
The other interesting thing about this layout is the photos aren't great quality. They were taken with an older iPhone and put through several Instagram filters. Looks good on a screen, not great when printing them out. To correct this as much as I could I printed them fairly small, only about 2.75 square. Enough to be seen without focusing on all the flaws. I didn't want to skip these photos just because they aren't the best when printed and I'm happy that it worked out well.<br />
<br />
Again, thank you to Scrapbook Generation! This will be missed but I can't wait to see what you do in the future!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01021603156165650642noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503987825109946145.post-19150112907271829462015-09-16T10:12:00.002-07:002015-09-16T10:12:43.725-07:00CREATE Sepetmember 2015New CREATE is live and it's packed with goodness! Here is the cover in all it's glory.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbGXuf4S8nQZElc4rgr_aCpEX-x5-L_EQ56lFRhiekaVM4YxtHbkeM3KXEMyPW2dSKToP3-jGxJPaxD3R7b-vy6b8jWDU0DK9FjYBt3_Y1mdEGd-7HcUIXw9tnCctEWwbgcJyQMarKlpg/s1600/11986344_10205243803279553_5060208767310455230_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbGXuf4S8nQZElc4rgr_aCpEX-x5-L_EQ56lFRhiekaVM4YxtHbkeM3KXEMyPW2dSKToP3-jGxJPaxD3R7b-vy6b8jWDU0DK9FjYBt3_Y1mdEGd-7HcUIXw9tnCctEWwbgcJyQMarKlpg/s640/11986344_10205243803279553_5060208767310455230_n.jpg" width="486" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I'm sharing a page in it today. Our assignment was do journaling in a interview style format. Perfect timing for me! My niece turned 16 last month and I asked her 16 questions about life now and her plans for the future. 16 is such a milestone age and I wanted a special way to document it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifGYhvt8Aq2PLpS0dfRrqtbMP97lmvLUAqlcsEVKGasv1G8KgPJrkKOyqiyitqC2M5EjncJ6caSWWl_6xGcCMSOXxCFLl_S4KMDWuOu1ylBajKKHrjnZl2uDaUDeUPSlX8Fr6I4JXhPj4/s1600/journalingtashakey.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="397" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifGYhvt8Aq2PLpS0dfRrqtbMP97lmvLUAqlcsEVKGasv1G8KgPJrkKOyqiyitqC2M5EjncJ6caSWWl_6xGcCMSOXxCFLl_S4KMDWuOu1ylBajKKHrjnZl2uDaUDeUPSlX8Fr6I4JXhPj4/s400/journalingtashakey.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
I finally put a lot of those 3x4 Simple Stories snap cards to use. I've bought a lot of the releases and these are from what I believe is the first, the Her snap line. Using Lawn Fawn's stitched squares let me use those in a way other than the typical 3x4 format. Great way to use up stash!<br />

<br />
The card and tag sketch are fun and you can get all the measurements by downloading them <a href="http://www.scrapbookgeneration.com/create-2015-july-downloads/">here</a>.<br />
<br />
Here is my take on the two.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoX22BuUTD2V4Tg7yej5fPhS36JosmLLhsyDkb7d7YMXyIPJgpIpTHELaRUDOfmkgXo8mOZA7xs8Ym9PbYhEGSdPrgtmRKxW6JG2I68Gso7VJ2Eyfqap4ESDp2yzUT3FsZbR8MK-70Iy4/s1600/cardtashakey.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoX22BuUTD2V4Tg7yej5fPhS36JosmLLhsyDkb7d7YMXyIPJgpIpTHELaRUDOfmkgXo8mOZA7xs8Ym9PbYhEGSdPrgtmRKxW6JG2I68Gso7VJ2Eyfqap4ESDp2yzUT3FsZbR8MK-70Iy4/s400/cardtashakey.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
For the card I kept it fairly close to the sketch, opting to swap out the stars for hearts and one doily die cut.<br />
<br />
The tag is where I changed up a couple of things, first the overall dimension is different. The other main change was to instead of add a piece inside the strips, which would be great for hidden journaling, I added a heart die cut on top. This would be an excellent set to use for a baby shower, which is exactly what I plan to do.<br />
<br />
Finally breaking out my Simple Stories; Hello, Baby collection felt great. Some recent Waffle Flower purchases seem to be made for a card just like this, along with a favorite Maggie Holmes doily embossing folder. I'm happy with how it came out and I can't wait to send it with a gift for a new precious bundle. New CREATE issue! I'm excited for this issue for a couple of reason, it's incredible and it really pushed me out of my comfort zone.<br />
<br />
First let's take a look at the fantastic cover.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJiihkCF54OFYHChGUQWvHtZaDPH3d90xf62HMZqgMf30i0XRlKyrB5GlJ7t8SQ9AMNMupgVdPzCUdQyn02dwjMoTm81jkPKBMjF4bpqMwtRsZgrX1ZRnpnLtxheCUYzCsmkTYmCwDQ54/s1600/11707512_10204865860071209_600871290615738976_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJiihkCF54OFYHChGUQWvHtZaDPH3d90xf62HMZqgMf30i0XRlKyrB5GlJ7t8SQ9AMNMupgVdPzCUdQyn02dwjMoTm81jkPKBMjF4bpqMwtRsZgrX1ZRnpnLtxheCUYzCsmkTYmCwDQ54/s400/11707512_10204865860071209_600871290615738976_n.jpg" width="303" /></a></div>
Isn't it beautiful? You can see this issue and past issues <a href="http://www.scrapbookgeneration.com/magazine/">here</a>. <br />
<br />
The layout I'd like to share today is the one that defintely pushed me out of my comfort zone, it's a product focus of stencils. I'm not a huge stencil user, and usually the rare times I do use them are on cards. I really had no idea how to approach this, to gather ideas I went a craft store and just walked around making sure to take my time and really look over the products to see if anything inspired me.<br />
<br />
I was lucky because I found the perfect thing.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://mediacdn.shopatron.com/media/mfg/430/product_image/thm/t440_4d6d36d202afa440af85bea28c423047.jpg?1428111592" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://mediacdn.shopatron.com/media/mfg/430/product_image/thm/t440_4d6d36d202afa440af85bea28c423047.jpg?1428111592" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
iCraft Deco Foil liquid adhesive from Therm-O-Web. This stuff is magic! I love the foil trend that is going on but I don't have a laminating machine to get the look, enter this adhesive. You can get the foil look you love, with no heat at all. I did have to apply some removable adhesive to the back side of my stencil to keep it from seeping underneath. Zig two way glue worked just perfect for this and it was super quick to do. All I had to do was wait for the foil adhesive to dry and rub my foil sheet on top, so easy and a great look!<br />
<br />
You can see the foil in action inside the letter L.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeBwYB780QD2FFNlXLJgsD8k-C8MSDMly97G7Zo6vJvA5uTc4ellfuKE_qiKb9P8jjX5oX6RdfmTc4whJmcJQ7LaCkN2FqDhW7c0a6mjD2Bh03tJl2oI6CIICWgAHEJsWpVHJyxtmXVBs/s1600/producttashakey.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeBwYB780QD2FFNlXLJgsD8k-C8MSDMly97G7Zo6vJvA5uTc4ellfuKE_qiKb9P8jjX5oX6RdfmTc4whJmcJQ7LaCkN2FqDhW7c0a6mjD2Bh03tJl2oI6CIICWgAHEJsWpVHJyxtmXVBs/s640/producttashakey.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
I used some silver cardstock to die cut hearts with some My Favorite Things and Sizzix dies to help reinforce the silver foiling.<br />
<br />
It ends up being being a bright and playful layout, perfect for pictures of my niece and son when playing at the playground. The large word Playtime, works as both my title and a great way to spotlight a few of my favorite photos, it's cut on my cameo using the font Impact.<br />
<br />
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope to have process videos back in the near future. I'm carving out a few minutes to share one project today.</p>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xfp1/v/t1.0-9/s720x720/11034917_10152783551887297_1706752797780868947_n.jpg?oh=a7307894b19031282868caef0baec08e&oe=557C179D&__gda__=1437466212_9a7e84ef3e86ada2c5b0ab1b05426ab5" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xfp1/v/t1.0-9/s720x720/11034917_10152783551887297_1706752797780868947_n.jpg?oh=a7307894b19031282868caef0baec08e&oe=557C179D&__gda__=1437466212_9a7e84ef3e86ada2c5b0ab1b05426ab5" /></a></div>
<p>Find the link to this magazine and all past issues <a href="http://www.scrapbookgeneration.com/magazine/">here</a>. </p>
<p>The first project I wanted to share is my layout for the sketch challenge. It shows a couple of things; 1. You don't have to use a perfect photo, this one my son actually has his eyes closed. 2. Sketches are just guidelines, they are meant to help give direction or inspiration. They aren't meant to be stifling or taken literally 100% of the time.</p>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUhbSa23t2zTe4mScOg68nSlcYEPb4rgJ59BgzjYeieh2DQ5M7ElrECnusDyuhYpaBFtCcVcKzDSYxYt14zD5X51QTTtxKAsTFpIez4AM-9S9jWZfae-qXh-UEZTDGVuy18KjbVPC43ao/s1600/sketchtashakey.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUhbSa23t2zTe4mScOg68nSlcYEPb4rgJ59BgzjYeieh2DQ5M7ElrECnusDyuhYpaBFtCcVcKzDSYxYt14zD5X51QTTtxKAsTFpIez4AM-9S9jWZfae-qXh-UEZTDGVuy18KjbVPC43ao/s640/sketchtashakey.jpg" /></a></div>
<p>By moving the vertical strips of paper behind the small panel it allowed me to use one of the popular sunburst type of papers more effectively. The leading lines are something that I love about that paper but it would have been interrupted if I had used the sketch exactly as shown. The other major change was to move the cluster, which happens to be banners in the sketch, to just above the photo. Without the vertical strips of paper it appeared to be floating in mid air, this makes it more of a part of the photo. It's not hard to take a sketch and get exactly the look you want by tweaking things to your liking. </p>
<p>Be sure to download this sketch and others from Scrapbook Generation. There are lot of free options and if you like those there are single, triples, bundles, and so much more! The sketch books are favorites of mine.</p>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1mHAYPt3U1TklzcbXbjB1_xh4IUt3p5pJUOYMivXVJHgdpQJ3fuhhcfr3l-es_RkY-xpRu4NpjO-BO_OqIhXN77AOSWC0fBReEUjmLe53AHJZabuSpadnURH0x3_i5V4lyagDOPtUswY/s1600/01+create+cover+jan+2015_Layout+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1mHAYPt3U1TklzcbXbjB1_xh4IUt3p5pJUOYMivXVJHgdpQJ3fuhhcfr3l-es_RkY-xpRu4NpjO-BO_OqIhXN77AOSWC0fBReEUjmLe53AHJZabuSpadnURH0x3_i5V4lyagDOPtUswY/s640/01+create+cover+jan+2015_Layout+1.jpg" /></a></div>
<p>You can view and download this and past issues <a href="https://www.scrapbookgeneration.com/index.php?route=information/information&information_id=8"><b>here</b></a>.</p>
<p>I myself have two layouts in this 303 page beast of a magazine.</p>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjHAl9Y9jty56k40AIqYz7fwbrAqMlskDgWB-VfawHyvq9GNoX1gbbPrOW3CQ8N4XF1GNWtTxkl80WZOIbk9F1dHMHTgOI_iI_fWXeRaB6eokfdDLJh25wRGVP9fmXCnTeuAaWsLYQV7E/s1600/journalingtashakey.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjHAl9Y9jty56k40AIqYz7fwbrAqMlskDgWB-VfawHyvq9GNoX1gbbPrOW3CQ8N4XF1GNWtTxkl80WZOIbk9F1dHMHTgOI_iI_fWXeRaB6eokfdDLJh25wRGVP9fmXCnTeuAaWsLYQV7E/s640/journalingtashakey.jpg" /></a></div>
<p>This is the longest title work I've ever done on a layout and now I feel like it's some sort of challenge to beat it in the future. Not sure that can be done. I loved the challenge and knew exactly what I was going to do from the first moment. The realities of today's families are rather unique and things like shopping by text are all too common. I love glimpses of everyday life.</p>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfUDQ8S2nKNxGozYOpEnpHQh7DpQ3qQutgDd42GeEF-ygrC7HM_iUtGOME7Kh1NOGS4cTb5VfQ48Yu6-QVmIdoPJxSfAogAsHWyhIMrJKTwiFZavOm4Ve2EAiv_NMrbl24j42jcSI46sQ/s1600/lovetashakey.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfUDQ8S2nKNxGozYOpEnpHQh7DpQ3qQutgDd42GeEF-ygrC7HM_iUtGOME7Kh1NOGS4cTb5VfQ48Yu6-QVmIdoPJxSfAogAsHWyhIMrJKTwiFZavOm4Ve2EAiv_NMrbl24j42jcSI46sQ/s640/lovetashakey.jpg" /></a></div>
<p>This is special because I actually have a process video for it! I'll link it up below. Thank you so very much for stopping by, enjoy.</p>

Long time no see. I've been around but not using blogger much. There is no good excuse why but I can say I will try much harder this year to be present.
<p>One big announcement is I'm now on CREATE magazine's Design Team! I'm so excited and nervous all at the same time. The first issue for 2015 is coming up soon and I can't wait to share! It's fabulous and packed full of goodness!</p>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjL1ejOmWRWi_Z6gIvLvgLb5hOVRkUuirj4HESndaJpljes4BR6mcz08pSoIkYX6c2pmxDlV-7-jGRKCAiGor5i70jcf4lyC7DzZPNinHnllwfxIMcXfTrEGisDZKb-OUFK4mtrxMa493k/s1600/2014-t-graphic_Layout-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjL1ejOmWRWi_Z6gIvLvgLb5hOVRkUuirj4HESndaJpljes4BR6mcz08pSoIkYX6c2pmxDlV-7-jGRKCAiGor5i70jcf4lyC7DzZPNinHnllwfxIMcXfTrEGisDZKb-OUFK4mtrxMa493k/s1600/2014-t-graphic_Layout-1.jpg" /></a></div>
<p>Don't know what CREATE is? That's ok, it's still fairly new. It's a bi-monthly digital magazine that Scrapbook Generation offers. It's free and fabulous. It debuted in January of 2014 and with monthly issues, <a href="https://www.scrapbookgeneration.com/index.php?route=information/information&information_id=8">you can find them here</a>, if you haven't taken a look I encourage you to do so. The inspiration is really outstanding and you can't beat FREE!</p>
<p> I had a feature in the <a href="https://issuu.com/sgcreate/docs/june_create_small/1?e=10435885/8283565">June issue</a>, for my son's 2nd birthday party. It starts at page 133. Who would have thought that going to my very first scrapbook retreat and using that time to get a head start on Riley's birthday party would have landed me a feature in a magazine? I was so honored when Debbie asked if she could write up an article on the party. Riley turns 3 this year with a bash that will rival the last, you might see that one too.</p>
<p> All in all there will be more layouts shared, cards shared and I'm hoping to show you some organizing solutions I've worked on in the past year. Going from my room to a closet and desk in a shared room has made me rethink everything, you might have some of the same challenges and I hope I can share some nifty organizing solutions I've found.</p>
<p> If you've wondered where I've been and why I haven't been around the answer is easy, Riley. Not that he is so demanding of attention, because now he far more independent, but because he has some pretty severe medical issues. He's going to turn 3 in a few months and still can't eat solid foods, yes, you heard that correctly. He underwent every test we could think of the last half of the year, hence me being away, to try and find the root cause. To put it simply there isn't anything "fixable" wrong. He has reflux that was pretty severe when he was an infant, the first medication he was on didn't help, he has a new one that actually works. The problem is now he doesn't think he can eat since he couldn't eat without pain when he was younger. It will be a long process to get him on the road to recovery but we can do it! Meanwhile he's happy, healthy and growing right on track thanks to supplements.</p>

Long time no see. I promise there is a reason for that and I will explain what I can after the results are back from my son's latest round of testing.<br />
<br />
For now let's get into today's project. I have a little Halloween Banner process video. Yes, today is Halloween but I figured better late than never and you change the theme to whatever you need.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC1pIraZyQ_6nY8L4JyUnn0ThtJkDceV54Jr6UDC_S_NHpyTlJqRYXGqfzmSAJ58dFoDzy7nLZ8bYH3XxBDtllSlqqUd84J9kCx-o_tZkMHJl2sNdL0H1uGuJp8H1czHs9bsYNzhgpJOY/s1600/Halloween+banner+full+image.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC1pIraZyQ_6nY8L4JyUnn0ThtJkDceV54Jr6UDC_S_NHpyTlJqRYXGqfzmSAJ58dFoDzy7nLZ8bYH3XxBDtllSlqqUd84J9kCx-o_tZkMHJl2sNdL0H1uGuJp8H1czHs9bsYNzhgpJOY/s1600/Halloween+banner+full+image.jpg" height="400" width="286" /></a></div>
Here it is in all it's glory. Okay, so it isn't a large banner. It is the start of what I want to happen with this mirror. It's in the entry and will feature a nice little Halloween vignette eventually. My plan is to add a little something every year to make this a show piece for when we have trick-or-treaters.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhG5kMqRZsy4Vxfz4kZw0OtpNHI9CDQFtWVEiFt4q7YA47j1RWjedh6uPHCewbisdDqHjQFhTXxzdnR9vzgAM12cUzUVZMjm9p2D3m1ZqZIB7yT4Y7FvWBmNRZ5EujZg_ttMGSkgbZNGKA/s1600/Halloween+banner.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhG5kMqRZsy4Vxfz4kZw0OtpNHI9CDQFtWVEiFt4q7YA47j1RWjedh6uPHCewbisdDqHjQFhTXxzdnR9vzgAM12cUzUVZMjm9p2D3m1ZqZIB7yT4Y7FvWBmNRZ5EujZg_ttMGSkgbZNGKA/s1600/Halloween+banner.jpg" height="305" width="640" /></a></div>
Here is a little more of a close-up shot for you. It's super cute in person. Why is it that projects never really show up as well in photos? Seems like a new hashtag just waiting to be born, #scrapbookerproblems.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAEhOOCzK06r3fuOSG0NHj_-1REouPYN8_HspCoK5cWJmMn10qUIvJXmMbs-ALjuj06Bda0uKUr9lRD5vXivybEsqeOjQbMwLp6t5VkOEFVdn0AEn5Q1SSuWB7e5bWDMt1K_R7MQcBUnM/s1600/Halloween+banner+close+up.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAEhOOCzK06r3fuOSG0NHj_-1REouPYN8_HspCoK5cWJmMn10qUIvJXmMbs-ALjuj06Bda0uKUr9lRD5vXivybEsqeOjQbMwLp6t5VkOEFVdn0AEn5Q1SSuWB7e5bWDMt1K_R7MQcBUnM/s1600/Halloween+banner+close+up.jpg" height="422" width="640" /></a></div>
And an even closer shot to give you an idea of some of the details and dimension.<br />
<br />
Finally, the video.

I'm excited to be back in the SG sketch blog hop, I took off for the last one and I missed it. Let's jump in to the good stuff shall we?<br />
<br />
<center>
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="249" mozallowfullscreen="" msallowfullscreen="" oallowfullscreen="" src="https://www.flickr.com/photos/52926312@N06/14140231997/player/" webkitallowfullscreen="" width="600"></iframe></center>
<br />
Welcome to the Scrapbook Generation Blog Hop for June. If this is your first stop, you might like to start at the Scrapbook Generation blog and then hop through each link.<br />
<br />
<center>
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="639" mozallowfullscreen="" msallowfullscreen="" oallowfullscreen="" src="https://www.flickr.com/photos/52926312@N06/14140200139/in/photostream/player/" webkitallowfullscreen="" width="640"></iframe></center>
<br />
My sketch comes from the downloads. There is a slight snag, it isn't in the new store and I didn't think to check before starting this blog post to make sure it was there. It was from October according to the file name, and was a single page sketch. The main difference I made, besides ignoring their embellishments completely, was to make the center photo larger. I really wanted it to stand out and the be the focal point, if you look closely at my husband and son you'll see why. I just couldn't let those faces be any smaller.<br />
<br />
Here are a few close-ups. I really loved playing around with my embellishment clusters for this layout. All of those label stickers you see tucked in have been in my stash for a number of years, remember Scenic Route, and it was satisfying to actually use them.<br />
<br />
<center>
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="424" mozallowfullscreen="" msallowfullscreen="" oallowfullscreen="" src="https://www.flickr.com/photos/52926312@N06/14140210879/player/" webkitallowfullscreen="" width="640"></iframe></center>
<center>
</center>

<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="554" mozallowfullscreen="" msallowfullscreen="" oallowfullscreen="" src="https://www.flickr.com/photos/52926312@N06/14140345947/player/" webkitallowfullscreen="" width="640"></iframe></center>
<br />
I even tried out a new method of dating the layout. Normally I would just use a roller date stamp and a label but the actual day wasn't important. The geotag tells you it was a night in NYC, which was only one of 4 that year, it wouldn't be hard to narrow it down. This did happen to be the first night and I'll add journaling later explaining that, for some reason I don't always add journaling before blogging.<br />
<br />

<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="362" mozallowfullscreen="" msallowfullscreen="" oallowfullscreen="" src="https://www.flickr.com/photos/52926312@N06/14140211889/player/" webkitallowfullscreen="" width="640"></iframe></center>
<br />
That's it from me so I'll thank you for stopping by! Also if you like process video check out my posts from last month and you'll find a couple from me. It's a new thing that I'm so very excited to be doing.<br />
<br />
You can find the SG sketches in their books and as downloads in the <a href="http://www.scrapbookgeneration.com/" target="_blank">SG store</a>, and there is a free one every month in case you wanted to try it out.<br />
<br />
Next on the hop is <a href="http://savingmine.blogspot.com/">Lori</a>, leave a comment on each blog and one lucky commenter will receive a free sketch bundle of their choice from the store. The winner will be drawn on Monday, June 9th which leaves you one week to leave a comment.<br />

I adored this months sketch and had a blast working with it to create a cute page about little guys first visit to the doctor. Which ended up being a major event. His peditrian's wife is also a pediatrician and was having an article written about her in the local paper. They needed a child for a photo op and asked if Riley could be in the picture. It was so neat seeing him in the paper, even if he was very unhappy in the photo. </p>
<p>First let's look at the sketch. </p>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0YT42ArTFuT2FRL6HPkO90yHYWInBqZU1EPBy66akhbEvTllbP3jpUeCyN9nyjfRlWgurWFcI6gmgX4XpSy5FwrjXz5vmuWSHHNq7yprAW18Jfp8O0MhrDTXqnQWHZY8tptaxCuFVOj-X/s1600/sketch5darcy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0YT42ArTFuT2FRL6HPkO90yHYWInBqZU1EPBy66akhbEvTllbP3jpUeCyN9nyjfRlWgurWFcI6gmgX4XpSy5FwrjXz5vmuWSHHNq7yprAW18Jfp8O0MhrDTXqnQWHZY8tptaxCuFVOj-X/s640/sketch5darcy.jpg" /></a></div>
<p> And here is my take on it. Along with a couple of close ups.</p>
<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqGDKT9-4XMOF9fRbB3xM_Wg0pBuSveUJK5G3JloIKvekV4ra3AyFVIPASNrHyQ-e_YIaVs40OyvyITOB8qJ139nbWyEAUlYTBMlgvXE6YtYrfk4GihyCVKJkZ6tVHdgAyBS_A7V6EP1c/s1600/First+Checkup.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqGDKT9-4XMOF9fRbB3xM_Wg0pBuSveUJK5G3JloIKvekV4ra3AyFVIPASNrHyQ-e_YIaVs40OyvyITOB8qJ139nbWyEAUlYTBMlgvXE6YtYrfk4GihyCVKJkZ6tVHdgAyBS_A7V6EP1c/s640/First+Checkup.jpg" /></a>

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJs0jAnNYr3ClCQ-viNj6JrdKq19HCx00Xbl3q93m0IPj__IW2UdCR9qlPBLHLdup3vuLoxLKJtE9Oes4J_EoHmY8wWR9enk9NqVTDnETYEhyphenhyphen8E3HBcP9_7UjljkLtTZxq3L6n3TC2_Tk/s1600/First+Checkup+cluster+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJs0jAnNYr3ClCQ-viNj6JrdKq19HCx00Xbl3q93m0IPj__IW2UdCR9qlPBLHLdup3vuLoxLKJtE9Oes4J_EoHmY8wWR9enk9NqVTDnETYEhyphenhyphen8E3HBcP9_7UjljkLtTZxq3L6n3TC2_Tk/s640/First+Checkup+cluster+2.jpg" /></a></div>
<p>I did change a few things up, like turning the three strips of paper into one. I almost cut the plaid paper into three strips to give the same look but in the end it was so cute I had to leave it intact. The rest is fairly similar. I did make my focal photo larger and stacked my square photo the opposite way. There are times when I use a sketch and by the end you can't even tell they are related, this I think you can.</p>

I've tested it out for a few months and even took it along on a scrapbooking weekend trip and it worked beautifully.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/712Lyno8h6L._SL1500_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/712Lyno8h6L._SL1500_.jpg" height="236" width="320" /></a></div>
It's a fantastic solution that holds even the tiniest of piece in place. Plus, it's completely customizable for all of the larger designs that have been coming out more recently.<br />
<br />

I do apologize for my recent hiatus, my son's birthday party took up a lot of my time and I haven't had much free time since. I'll be back with regular layouts and more storage posts soon. Thank you so much for stopping by!<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
This sketch was lots of fun to work with. The only problem I had was trying to find pictures that fit the current arrangement. I had the perfect picture for the largest spot, only it would have looked off the page instead of towards the title, the look I prefer. While most of the time you can simply use photo editing software to flip your photo to orient it in the way you want, you can't when there is writing visible. So I flipped the sketch to accommodate my pictures.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP4wu88H8jwbihvLsOk6r_6yvmxG34EGbqVcSEhvyeiS5BebbXM1g0f4XrsjEwYGwwvGIpYFbM4JHL3dPLwmgN24QrqZbA3-a9v1XGVt6zJsGufB2kirZBzhqkPMML2bGgrGg8JGwPXKg/s1600/Peach+Picking.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP4wu88H8jwbihvLsOk6r_6yvmxG34EGbqVcSEhvyeiS5BebbXM1g0f4XrsjEwYGwwvGIpYFbM4JHL3dPLwmgN24QrqZbA3-a9v1XGVt6zJsGufB2kirZBzhqkPMML2bGgrGg8JGwPXKg/s1600/Peach+Picking.jpg" height="322" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Now it fits my photos perfectly. This year I have a goal of using some older product and decided these photos would be the perfect opportunity for some stash digging. I finally settled on mostly old Echo Park, all but the dot in the background and the large cloud are from their first collection Sweet Summertime. Talk about a blast from the past! The cloud paper is from Echo Park's Summer Days collection, and the small polka dot you can see around the edge is from Snap by Simple Stories.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkZvuQW2GKLMVKb9g0ogaPKzW-SLX22DFl8PdC7xBurQCvGw3KS2BPYpzNpjfKdmBzTObFB-yQYGqW8y52qs2KEczqicamhg1kNVoUXsioSZobG5YKGeGDBC7Qd_Z0E8Ut1JtqRsNkjqg/s1600/Peach+Picking+embellishment+close+up.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkZvuQW2GKLMVKb9g0ogaPKzW-SLX22DFl8PdC7xBurQCvGw3KS2BPYpzNpjfKdmBzTObFB-yQYGqW8y52qs2KEczqicamhg1kNVoUXsioSZobG5YKGeGDBC7Qd_Z0E8Ut1JtqRsNkjqg/s1600/Peach+Picking+embellishment+close+up.jpg" height="253" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The butterfly is a stamp and die combo from Papertrey Ink, another quite
old product. You can't really tell but I went over the stamped portion
with my Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pen. Leaving the white edge
plain really gives the butterflies the look of a pre-made embellishment.<br />
<br />

<br />Tashahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04016828161268301084noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503987825109946145.post-298950646771751202014-03-11T20:20:00.000-07:002014-03-11T20:31:45.258-07:00Steppin' Out - Layout<p>Hello again! I'm here with a current favorite layout. These photos were taken when we were walking from The Guggenheim to The Met, my son was acting like his normal crazy self and I had to document it. These types of everyday layout are my favorite.</p>
<center><iframe src="https://www.flickr.com/photos/52926312@N06/13096634363/player/1365460410" height="640" width="637" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen></iframe></center>
<p>I used a sketch from Scrapbook Generations One-Page sketches Volume 1. I'm trying to incorporate layering more in my layouts again. This layout is the perfect example of how layering and embellishment clusters don't have to be over the top and complicated, sometimes simple is better.</p>
<center><iframe src="https://www.flickr.com/photos/52926312@N06/13096667083/player/0e8bab1058" height="424" width="640" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen></iframe></center>
<p> There is a nice close up of a basic embellishment cluster, a shape for the base, an element with writing, a sticker with writing and enamel dots finish it off. You can see that I've made sure to follow this same pattern in three different areas. The journaling is another that I didn't get a close up of, you can see though the same elements are there just a tiny bit more spread out and almost appear to frame the journaling. Framing key areas is something I like to do, you can see another example of this in the next photo.</p>
<center><iframe src="https://www.flickr.com/photos/52926312@N06/13096534435/player/bbea869f10" height="424" width="640" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen></iframe></center>
<p> This final cluster is just slightly different. I didn't have an element with writing left that I really liked, like the "so random" and "always an adventure" pieces that I used in the other two clusters. I went through my stamp collection and came up with "pure joy" from Elle's studio and it was the perfect giving me the element with writing to finish off the cluster beautifully. Originally I had it stamped and cut out of a piece of plain cardstock to give me the same look as the other pieces but in the end I wanted to keep the pattern of that green chevron paper and it turned out cute.</p>
<p>Thanks so much for stopping by!</p>Tashahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04016828161268301084noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503987825109946145.post-31313347440435195962014-03-03T07:20:00.000-08:002014-03-03T07:44:25.219-08:00Hello Roomie - Layout<p>Can you believe I've been scrapping well over a decade and I haven't made a single page that was just for me? I've made pages for my niece, vacations, etc. But, nothing that was just mine and something no one else would really care about. That changed last week.</p>
<center><iframe src="https://www.flickr.com/photos/52926312@N06/12906703844/player/1b4f89853e" height="640" width="639" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen></iframe></center>
<p>I'm on the left and Stephanie is on the right. We belong to a message board that is rather close knit and a large group, almost 50 people, met up at a scrapbooking retreat. Stephanie was gracious enough to be my roommate and it was so much fun getting to know her in person.</p>
<p>If you ever have a chance to go to a scrapbooking retreat you should try it. Getting to set up for a crop and have several days to work on things was great. It was so much fun that I'm signed up for another multi-day crop, not a retreat but close, in May.</p>
<p>This layout uses a sketch from the Scrapbook Generation One-Page sketches, Volume 1.</p>
<p>Thanks for stopping by</p>Tashahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04016828161268301084noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503987825109946145.post-83979582034919802162014-02-28T08:17:00.002-08:002014-02-28T08:17:27.680-08:00First Subway Ride - Layout<p>Hello, all! I'm back with another travel layout. At the rate I'm going I might have this trip scrapped in about 10 years. That is just fine with me, makes sure I have something to work on all the time.</p>
<p>I used a Scrapbook Generation sketch from the <a href="http://scrapbookgeneration.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=177">One-Page Sketches, Volume 2 book</a>. Using their sketches really helps to speed up my process, any sketch does really but have the photo sizes printed for me helps the most. </p>
<center><iframe src="https://www.flickr.com/photos/52926312@N06/12835976585/player/635d6b0f57" height="634" width="640" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen></iframe></center>
<p>I honestly thought subways in NYC would be scary, but really they aren't. The only issue we had was routes aren't really clearly marked, if you are used to public transportation maybe it would be easier for you. These Arkansas folks that have to drive their own car to get anywhere, are not. I'm used to signs tell me to turn here, or there, to find a landmark and there wasn't anything like that. On the inside there is a map that lights up to which stop you are at, I really wish they would have that same type of map on the platforms so you know which side to use. You would think a grid system, like the streets of NYC, would be easy to navigate but I guess we are just too used to our own system down here. I'm sure if we had gone on more than one ride we would have gotten the hang of, at least I hope so.</p>
<p>On to the layout. I used mostly Simple Stories Urban Traveler. I do have a tiny bit of October Afternoon and Thickers from American Crafts. I also used stamps from Technique Tuesday, October Afternoon and Stampin' Up!.
<center><iframe src="https://www.flickr.com/photos/52926312@N06/12836008655/player/ed9ebde46c" height="424" width="640" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen></iframe></center>
<p>I'm starting to get back into clustering more around my titles, it's a look that I really love and have gotten a tiny bit away from. This was my way to slightly ease back into it and I'll have more next week that I add even more.</p>
<p>Thanks so much for stopping by!</p>Tashahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04016828161268301084noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503987825109946145.post-16798116552550411802014-02-25T07:59:00.000-08:002014-02-25T07:59:45.875-08:00 The Vampires are Coming - DT Layout<p>Hello all! Another month means another <a href="http://stickitdown.blogspot.com/2014/02/tuesday-sketch-challenge_25.html">Stick It Down double page sketch</a>. This one was a blast to work on and I know as soon as I saw it any layout made from that sketch would look fantastic.</p>
<p>Here is the sketch.</p>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLzecd0w5UjhrYarltTQVTLgS0duIOQjtnJajx1CBC1jkle6V__qy0zjIBT9W2aLeS3G-jIYo-ar9dn1oI7qHLWKl068JmIW7m8VjKkXg7nggSnJKEwqjOwntNEUniYElh2EqKC1SFyDGa/s1600/sketch3darcy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLzecd0w5UjhrYarltTQVTLgS0duIOQjtnJajx1CBC1jkle6V__qy0zjIBT9W2aLeS3G-jIYo-ar9dn1oI7qHLWKl068JmIW7m8VjKkXg7nggSnJKEwqjOwntNEUniYElh2EqKC1SFyDGa/s400/sketch3darcy.jpg" /></a></div>
<p>I still love the banner look and knew it would be perfect for pictures of my son and niece trick or treating.</p>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3722/12772472805_35e9921f89_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3722/12772472805_35e9921f89_z.jpg" /></a></div>
<p>They are so cute in their coordinating vampire costumes. You can see I stuck pretty close to the sketch, it is missing the top stripe piece but I had quite a big of multicolored patterned paper and didn't think it need the extra pop. That spot with the doily was just itching to be replaced with a spiderweb, that was cut from my Cameo and I did some hand-stitching to give it texture.</p>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3796/12772641783_7f0d8bff64_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3796/12772641783_7f0d8bff64_z.jpg" /></a></div>
<p>My title blends a little and that was done on purpose. The Bella Blvd. Trick or Treat collection had a lot of pattern and color, I didn't want my title to battle it out with the other elements. I did add a little extra big of glitz with my Wink of Stella glitter pen in clear, I love that thing and you can see more glitz I added in the next photo.</p>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7404/12772906914_81f6ceb835_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7404/12772906914_81f6ceb835_z.jpg" /></a></div>
<p>I used it to glam up three of the colors in the arrow piece and my little happy pumpkin peeking through the heart. It is so incredibly easy to go overboard with thing, I highly recommend it to everyone.</p>
<p>That wraps it up for <a href="http://stickitdown.blogspot.com/2014/02/tuesday-sketch-challenge_25.html">this months Stick It Down sketch</a>. Thanks so much for stopping by!</p>

I'm nervous and excited at the same time.</p>
<p>Let's jump right into the sketch and layout.</p>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh229nzQxePAhCJIopLykm-1eaV_zMx0HjlrU0pwShLe2vW42CKdupL5H9CmqwX6WPZ84fVVsQQSwptn5KZWRps-uhiyuqvL9f6yFif-CWjNGVtEEd31GK2OJI5UBw4NgrJo1g4qI68frM/s1600/double+sketch+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh229nzQxePAhCJIopLykm-1eaV_zMx0HjlrU0pwShLe2vW42CKdupL5H9CmqwX6WPZ84fVVsQQSwptn5KZWRps-uhiyuqvL9f6yFif-CWjNGVtEEd31GK2OJI5UBw4NgrJo1g4qI68frM/s640/double+sketch+1.jpg" /></a></div>
<p>I loved this sketch, it includes some of my favorite elements such as a large background and banner pieces. It wasn't hard to make something adorable with it.</p>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP-gQafZZoGF2opF0yUqh8qKKO5wf2SaMHLHiTCP-IjMhwaHZmjTvX8X2z1nnWABDx0U7Szptv2-PXL8j7el1xxoGRcRm8LCVz5i9daNxL64A6UPtHtUqMntTTgiV2U8hH1StlNQbOflOs/s1600/Flying+High+With+Daddy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP-gQafZZoGF2opF0yUqh8qKKO5wf2SaMHLHiTCP-IjMhwaHZmjTvX8X2z1nnWABDx0U7Szptv2-PXL8j7el1xxoGRcRm8LCVz5i9daNxL64A6UPtHtUqMntTTgiV2U8hH1StlNQbOflOs/s640/Flying+High+With+Daddy.jpg" /></a></div>
<p>Here is my layout. You can see I kept it pretty close to the sketch but I don't have a large strip going down the left side. To make up for that I took my embellishment cluster and brought it up to the title creating a sort of vertical element. It's ok to leave something out or add something else to a sketch, they are guidelines, not hard and fast rules.</p>
<p>Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will play along with the <a href="http://stickitdown.blogspot.com/2014/01/tuesday-sketch-challenge_28.html">Stick It Down February double page sketch</a>.</p>Tashahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04016828161268301084noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503987825109946145.post-16628803038679134282013-12-31T06:42:00.000-08:002013-12-31T06:42:53.119-08:00Stick It Down Double Page team intros

I'm back with another challenge layout. This time I'm playing with the <a href="http://stucksketches.blogspot.com/2013/11/november-1st-sketch-and-reveal.html">November 1st sketch</a> over on the Stuck?! blog. Here is a look at the sketch.</p>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPYEXBAmNl5O-hu5uLZSavWHQ7KnSUQ_-hEl0FUHz-nBbN1eXmTTeRgxriVLnuuk-anRcQxxR_KyiZEWnIEHtSLZuTllmk2b-9_dQEJuUoKoFK0AVl9ieqkgM1DTAr6U3nYPSkBHp-DGSC/s400/november+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPYEXBAmNl5O-hu5uLZSavWHQ7KnSUQ_-hEl0FUHz-nBbN1eXmTTeRgxriVLnuuk-anRcQxxR_KyiZEWnIEHtSLZuTllmk2b-9_dQEJuUoKoFK0AVl9ieqkgM1DTAr6U3nYPSkBHp-DGSC/s320/november+1.jpg" /></a></div>
<p>And here is my take on it.</p>
<center><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/52926312@N06/10820867443/" title="Very Protected by Tashak2010, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3779/10820867443_af5edd4359_z.jpg" width="639" height="640" alt="Very Protected"></a></center>
<p>I loved this sketch and kept a lot of elements pretty close. Even kept the stars, but added a lot more and they of course are the tiny wood veneers from Studio Calico, one of my favorite embellishments ever.</p>
<center><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/52926312@N06/10820614066/" title="Very Protected title close-up by Tashak2010, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3795/10820614066_c5431b2af8_z.jpg" width="640" height="361" alt="Very Protected title close-up"></a></center>
<p>I chose to challenge myself on this one and use letter stickers. I'm good about using my smaller alphabet stickers but usually use Thickers for my larger letters. To help my letters standout I outlined them with a thin, brown sharpie. I'm really happy with how it turned out and will be breaking in my larger letter sticker stash more often. Using the flat letter stickers I was worried that my layout would lack the dimension that I love, but popping up layers at different heights gave it all the lift it needed.</p>
<p>Thanks for stopping by!</p>

Eeek! It is super scary to put yourself out there and I can't believe I actually took the plunge. </p>

<p><a href="http://stickitdown.blogspot.ca/2013/10/our-first-design-team-call.html">Stick It Down Design Team call</a>. They are looking for Single Page, Double Page, Card and Project Life submissions. I'm excited to see more of what they will offer. If you been around here a while you will know that sketches are my thing and I can't wait to see theirs, I'm always looking for something new to add to my sketch collection.</p>
<p>If you like sketches you should take a look and consider sending off your submission.</p>Tashahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04016828161268301084noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503987825109946145.post-60043157681223066312013-11-04T13:09:00.002-08:002013-11-04T13:09:56.527-08:0013th Birthday Girl - Layout<p>Another layout for the <a href="http://store.scrapbookgeneration.com/downloadables/november-2012-photo-arrangement-replay-class">Photo Arrangement Replay class</a>. I can't get over how much I like this class and even though it's over I still have lots of sketches to use from it. If you are looking into taking a sketch class to get your creative mojo working take this one.</p>

<p>My niece last year, it's still hard to believe she's a teenager. This layout was a little challenging because she's at that age you don't want to really use cutesy papers, yet more grown up looking lines don't really work either. I ended up going with Bella Blvd.'s Sunshine and Happiness. There isn't a lot left to say because I wanted to keep the embellishments to a minimum. The papers and stamping along the top were enough, I didn't want a lot more to compete for the focus, which I wanted to be the photos.</p>
<p>I will admit that it isn't my most favorite layout ever, not all of them can be though. It's cute and a little quirky, just like my niece.</p>
<p>Thanks for stopping by!</p>Tashahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04016828161268301084noreply@blogger.com3
