Fair Entries

Our fair was last month and this year I had three entries.

For the Scrapbooking: General category I entered the Your Love Of Reading layout.

Your Love Of Reading

For the Scrapbooking: Holiday category I used my Meeting Santa layout.

Meeting Santa

They both won first place! It's always nice to have other see the work you've put into a project and give it a thumbs up.

For the Rubber Stamp Art category I added the Thinking Of You card I made last month.

It also won first place.

Great year at the fair for me, now to plan even more entries for next year. Ideally I would like to enter more than the scrapbooking and rubber stamp art categories, we shall see what the future holds.

Yummy Little Toes - Layout

For today's project I decided to take part in the Scrap Our Stash Challenge, Tic Tac Toe.

I came in straight across the bottom. In total I used 9 brads, 4 wood veneer stars, and twine is featured in 2 places. Not too shabby.

Yummy Little Toes

This features a lot of Elle's Studio Cameron with a good dose of Doodlebug Boys Only. The companies actually work very well together since they both generally feature bright clean designs. The two background papers are actually quite old, the orange is from SEI and the graph is from Scenic Route. It felt really good to use up a couple of papers that are easily 5+ years old. I'm not sure if it translates well in the photo but I did mat my main panel with some Studio Calico vellum from the Atlantic collection. It gives a nice subtle look in person and takes the star theme even farther.

This was one I really wanted to get more use out of my stash and one item that has been just sitting are my Copic markers. For this layout I had the perfect font, the Kensie thickers font, but the color was wrong. In stepped the a couple of copic markers and now I have a funky font in a couple of cute colors. I also used the same colors on some wood veneer stars to take the color scheme even farther.

The sketch, you know I had to use one, is from the Scrapbook Generation June 2013 Individual download.

All in all it's a page I'm very proud of, both for stash usage and the clean graphic look.

Thanks for stopping by.

At the Patch - Layout

Hello, happy fall! To celebrate the changing of the season I'm here with a fall themed layout. These pictures were of Riley's first trip to a pumpkin patch.

I used a sketch from Scrapbook Generation, Sketches for Scrapbooking: One Page Sketches, Volume 2. Say that 10 times fast.

I loved the Lily Bee collection, Autumn Spice. With a very young child last year I didn't have time to make layouts and sadly the beautiful papers sat unused. Just because the collection came out a year ago that doesn't mean it isn't as stunning now as it was then. Some new embellishments went perfectly, I love mixing older products with something brand spankin' new.

It also gave me a chance to use some much older Thickers. I'm a sucker for anything woodgrain and bought these as soon as they hit the market, over two years ago. Wow, I really need to use things a little bit faster.

The main embellishment was this large chipboard piece, but the shape just wasn't working for me. I layered it on a sticker from the same collection, that worked much better for my page. You'll notice there really isn't much embellishment at all, the papers were so pretty that I didn't want to cover too much up.

Autumn Spice is still easily found and I encourage you to give it a look if you haven't before. It looks great on the screen and in person it's simply stunning. The woodgain paper I used as the background is the best I've come across, I'll be buying more of that for sure.

Thanks for stopping by. Supply list below.
